Lawyers, doctors, airline pilots - tell someone you're one of these and they'll immediately think of how much money those jobs are paid. Tell them you're a personal trainer, though, and they'll wonder if you couldn't be making more money working a fast food job.
It hurts because it's the truth. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average fitness professional works long, hard hours to make a mere thirty-five thousand dollars a year. In some parts of the country, that’s not a lot of go-out-and-have-fun money. In fact, in many big cities, that income isn’t even enough for a decent house and instant noodles every night.
But there is good news.
Thirty-five thousand dollars a year is only the average salary - an average salary for average personal trainers. But do you think you're "average"?
If your answer is "yes, I'm average", then there's really nothing I can do to help you. But there's no reason you can't make far more than what the government says most trainers take home each year. The only thing you need is a little business knowhow.See, it's basic common sense: if you want to make more money, then you need to get more business, and if you want more business, you need more clients. In short, the best way to boost your income is by bringing in more clients through marketing.
I know none of us went into the fitness industry to do marketing. You didn't sign on for things like market research and demographics; you became a personal trainer to help people, and possibly make a tidy profit in the process.
But you can’t do this if you don’t spend enough time each month marketing your business.
Don’t stress.
I won't mince words here: marketing can be a pain. That said, it doesn't have to leave you bankrupt: the explosive growth of the World Wide Web in recent years has made sure of that.
The best marketing tool for fitness experts hoping to boost their salaries is the Internet. I recommend that all trainers create their own websites and blogs: these sites should feature a schedule of available fitness classes, praise-filled testimonials from current clients, demonstration videos of exercise classes and your latest discounts or special offers.
Trainers need to promote their web homes through the social networking giants such as Twitter and Facebook. It’s not difficult to collect friends on either site; try for both if you can. Once trainers have a large enough database of these friends, they can send them regular announcements on what’s happening in the world of fitness.
And don't assume that the Internet has completely killed offline ways to market your business. A good fitness trainer should help out their local community as well. Talk at local hospitals and YMCAs, and hold free group exercise sessions at their local Rotary Clubs or park district facilities. The Cliff's Notes version: do whatever it takes to put your name in peoples' heads.
Traditional advertising is also far from dead. In the current economic climate, you can purchase advertising space in your local newspaper for much less than you could during the economic boom - and a weekly ad can prove to be a wise investment.
You might still be thinking that marketing is a waste of time, time you ought to be spending with your clients, but that line of thinking will cost you more than you'd imagine. You need a constantly growing client list to make sure that your salary as a personal trainer continues to grow. Who wants to work the the long hours of a personal trainer's job only to make thirty-five thousand dollars a year? To me, that just isn’t worth it.

Marketing and promotions don't have to be a pain as you say, I always found that running a promotion, analysing the results and then counting the money to be one of the most enjoyable parts of being in business...there are far more mundane tasks that small businesses need to do *cough* administration and accounting *cough*
Marketing is so flexible in it's application, you can design it around your personality and employ any tactics you want, the trick is to record everything you do for future reference and results analytics.

It's one thing to know how to build a Web layout, but it's something else to know the rules behind designing a layout that works. I this is the enough information about web design, if you want more just search with correct keyword.

All of us whatever business we have to make it more successful, at least we have a basic knowledge of your chosen business. And it is not necessary what field we are going to choose, as long as you are a hard working person, and knows how to market your business, I can be sure of a great profit ahead.
